AT POST — 8£ minutes. Start good and slow. Won handily; second and third driving. A heavy fog enveloped the course and it was impossible to distinguish the colors until nearing the stretch. LILTING and BRIGHT SPOT displayed the most speed in the run through the back stretch disputing the command. GROUND OAK was taken to the outside when reaching the stretch, readily wore down the leaders, drawing out steadily. BRIGHT SPOT held cn willingly, although no match for the winner when challenged.- MR. MISS MARTIS was taken under slight reserve while in pursuit of the pace, came to the outside for the stretch drive and, responding gamely, was along in the. concluding stride. GOLDEN FATE had speed from the outset, was much used in disposing of DREEL and, fighting it out courageously, just failed to hold on long, enough. DREEL, prominent all the way, made a determined effort to go along with the leader in the stretch, but tired in the last seventy yards. NEBRASKA CITY unseated his rider on the way to the post. He raced well placed, although unable to make up any ground during the closing test. IDOLATRY was unable to enter into contention. The others were never prominent. Scratched— 68962 Grandpas Boy, 110. YELLOW MASK came into the stretch enjoying a big lead and was not fully extended at the finish. BLOB VOLT came gamely in the last sixteenth to outlast PALO DURO. ZOIC made a bid to go along with the winner when challenged, but yielded ground steadily. GHOST QUEEN held on determinedly under pressure throughout the stretch run. AFFIRAIATION closed some ground under punishment. SUN INPLAY was back in the ruck when reaching the stretch. Scratched— 73520 Toddle On, 105. The latter, sent to the outside for the closing test, finished stoutly and was overtaking the winner steadily at the end. INACTIVE took command going to the first turn, fought it out for the early lead with VIAJERO, but was unable to maintain her advantage under stout Dressure pre»ure. FOREIGN LEGION closed some ground.
