Won easily; second and third driving. - DARK RAPTURE began fast to open up a wide lead in the first quarter mile, continued stoutly under mild urging when reaching the stretch and held sway to the end. KANALBRET, in a tangle after the start, found racing room when reaching the turn, but could not reach the winner under a stout drive. MINORCA raced greenly in the early stages, settled in stride and finished with good energy. CIRCUS WINGS showed speed from the start, but was not good enough. MARIYAH was pinched back soon after the start and wouldnt extend herself thereafter. DOCTORS NURSE was outrun. JULIE MACAW had no speed. ROYAL WANTON was outrun. GRAND DUKE followed within striking distance of the leaders early, swung to the outside for the final drive, closed fast when reaching contention and wore SUN ANTIOCH down nearing the end. Thj latter, going stoutly from the beginning, wore ROVING EYE down midway of the stretch, but could not withstand the winner at the end. CARNARVON was weakly handled, while racing in close quarters on the inside of the leaders, and tired in the last eighth. BALCONY finished with good energy in the late stages. GOLD KNIGHTESS broke slower than usual and lost ground while bettering her position. MERIDIAN TIME was taken very wide all the way. She appears to be reaching her best form. SKY HOSTESS had a lot of speed to be prominent for five-eighths. ROVING EYE flattened out in the last three-sixteenths. KALEIDA broke very slowly. PROMOTER, restrained off the pace for the first mile, worked his way to the leaders nearing the tenth fence, drove through on the inside of SKIMALONG to assume command at the fourteenth fence, then drew out in the last half mile. SAILORS KNOT trailed his field for the first mile, moved up on the outside to get into contention, was strongly urged, but could not threaten the winner after landing badly at the last jump. SKIMALONG opened up a wide lead early, was steadied at all of his fences and continued gamely to the end. DUN LUCKY was unable to menace seriously at any time. SENOIA tired early. The rnce vas not truly run when a great deal of crowding took place in the first sixteenth. SCORCH, avoiding interference, raced into a long lead, saved ground and was under steady pressure in the late stages to withstand GOOD RECEPTION. The latter broke clear and fast and raced forwardly from the start. ANNIE ALONE broke very slowly, moved into a contending position when the crowding came and finished well. DANS FOLLY also avoided the crowding to race in the first flight. HAZEL W. had a rough trip. LADY DOCTOR was crowded early and raced greenly. CORSICA was knocked around on the turn. CLOSE QUARTERS was bottled up badly and was carried to the outside fpnee by THE KNIFE. The latter was extremely green, caused a bad jam, was all over the track and the jockey was of no help. MAROC was close up from the beginning, challenged strongly when reaching the stretch and continued gamely. OF COURSE was ridden hard to race in the first flight and had no excuses. CHATABIT raced well all the way. HARDIHOOD could not better his position in the last stages. FIRST FLING was unable to enter contention. The others were never factors. GILDED KNIGHT was taken under steadying restraint while following in close pursuit of the pacemaker, was bumped by SUN LOVER when the latter drove up on the inside entering the stretch, recovered swiftly to overhaul SEA CAPTAIN and had speed in reserve nearing the close. SEA CAPTAIN displayed smart speed to set the pace, was rated nicely and held on willingly when placed to a drive at the stretch turn. SUN LOVER dropped far back in the first three-quarters, moved up swiftly at the final turn, was steered to the inside entering the stretch, struck GILDED KNIGHT when he cut the corner sharply, then continued gamely to the end.
