Eight Shifty Fillies May Clash in Pimlico Oaks Chiquita Mia Early Favorite — Equipet Works Handy Mile BALTIMORE, Md., April 30.— Present indications point to no more than eight fillies accepting for the 19th running of the Pimlico Oaks which will be presented at the Belvedere Avenue course of the Maryland Jockey Club Saturday. It appears to be one of the strongest lineups in recent years for the event with Charles S. Howards Chiquita Mia the likely favorite because of the exceptional manner in which she has been training. As a final preparation for the run over one mile and one-sixteenth, Breckinridge Longs Equipet worked a handy mile in 1 :44 this morning. The daughter of Equipoise and Shanette was timed the half mile in :49 and six furlongs in 1:15%. Expected to oppose the named pair are Anthony Baronis Bonnet Ann, Belair Studs Vagrancy, Foxcatcher Farms Cop-perette, R. S. Clarks Marie Galante, Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords Red Rosette and John Hay Whitneys The Swallow. Her brilliant Florida campaign which was followed by an easy victory in the Ashland Stakes at Keeneland, will bring strong support to The Swallow, and the daughter of Blenheim II. had her final strenuous preparation at Belmont Park before being shipped here. Riders have been selected for several members of the probable field and Tom Malley will come from New York to ride Vagrancy. In the absence of Buddy Haas, who went to Churchill Downs to ride Requested, Porter Roberts will be astride Chiquita Mia. Another invading saddle-smith will be Frank Zufelt, who has been selected for Bonnet Ann, and Henri Mora will handle "Copperette. Albert Schmidl will pilot Marie Galante. Thirty-six fillies were nominated for the 0,000 added prize which requires a 50 starting fee and each entrant will carry 121 pounds. _
