Howells Gift to Red Cross NEW YORK, N. Y., April 30.— Thomas Howell of Chicago, who races under the nom de course of The Barrington Stable, announced today that he would donate to the American Red Cross the sum of ,100. This money was accrued from the effort of his Olympus in the Excelsior Handicap at Jamaica. Waller, which finished first, was disqualified from first money. The percentage that goes to the trainer, jockey and a certain amount to the stable help was deducted from the gross money he was awarded.
