News From Countrys Racing Points New York i BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., May 14. The victories of J. M. Roeblings Card Game and Lochinvar on opening day at Belmont afforded trainer Andy Schut-tinger another opportunity to donate 00 to the Red Cross; 0 to the Navy Relief and 0 to the Army Relief. Schuttinger has "been donating 00 to these charities for every race won by his charges. Walter Chryslers Bleu dOr, which came out of the Wood Memorial on the ailing list, is back walking. Trainer Healey has high hopes of having him ready for a summer campaign. The state tax department, under command of Fred S. Buck, has taken quarters in the little white house. The Jockey Clubs Civilian Defense headquarters is also located there. Col. E. R. Bradley, master of Idle Hour Farm, was a visitor at Belmont Park on opening day. This was Mr. Bradleys first appearance during the young New York season. First Fiddle, owned by Mrs. E. Mulren-nan, was returned to Jamaica Monday from Louisville, Ky. The colt shipped in good condition and probably will be entered in the Withers. Cecil Knight arrived from Lexington. Ky.. and will make the riding engagements of jockey E. Wielander, under contract to J. E. Widener. Joe Renick will go to Suffolk Downs on Saturday to ride Tragic Ending, owned by the Coldstream Stable. The horse is due back here on Monday. Samuel Riddle arrived and will remain for the meeting. F. Ambrose Clark, noted steeplechase enthusiast, was a Belmont Park visitor. Al Burlen, clerk of the scales at all the New York courses, reports that there are 93 riders at Belmont. Twenty-nine of this number are steeplechase booters. Mike Basile, who was injured in a fall at Jamaica last Thursday, suffered no fractures it was revealed by x-rays. He is expected to resume riding soon. Steve Judge, trainer for the Woodvale Stable, is on the ailing list, but expects to return to his duties the latter part of the week. Steeplechase riders J. McGovern and T. Roby joined the large riding colony at Belmont. Jockey J. Deering, who was an early visitor, departed for Suffolk Downs where he will report to the J. L. Sullivan stable. Fred Marshall reported that he will handle the riding engagements of jockey F. Zufelt at this track. Jockeys Tommy Luther, George Seabo and E. Wielander applied for licenses to ride at the current meeting here. A. J. Patterson checked in at Aqueduct with Sturdy Duke and other horses.
