BRAXTON BELL, having good early .speed, took command in the first seventy yards, set all her own pace and came on to win easily. WICKED TIME, a forward factor throughout, closed strongly in the final drive to outgame LITTLE RHODY for the place. The latter, always in a contending position, closed gamely in the final drive. BUFF RYAN, slow to settle into stride, moved up steadily while saving ground rounding the final turn and was going gamely at the finish HONEY ROLL tired after showing some early speed. DOUBLE WITCH took command soon after the start and. being much the best, set all his own pace, then had to be hustled along in the final eighth to hold his advantaee. CRUMPET, always within striking distance of the pace, was steered to the outside going down the back stretch and closed stronely in the last eighth, but was never able to threaten the winner. TALL OAK. well back early, closed much ground in the final quarter mile. MYRNA aNo closed a big eap. CLOCK TIME moved up while saving ground on the final turn. CODOLL forced the pace to midway of the stretch, then tired. LIVERYS COP also tired after showing good early speed. KARLSPAR, well back for a half mile, moved up steadily rounding the final turn while saving ground and, under a drive in the last eighth, got up in the final stride to win narrowly. HELEN AGNES, showing speed from the start, forced the pace to the final eiehth. showed in front and held on eamely in the final drive, but could not withstand the winner. TOP NOTE raced evenly and was never able to improve his position, although saving ground the entire distance. MICHIYA was used up making the pace for three-quarters. GALLANT DREAM closed some eround after reaching the stretch when he slipped through on the inside. HIGHSCOPE, never far from the pace, dosed stronely rounding the second turn, but was never able to threaten the winner. COMMIXION, very slow to settle into stride, closed a big gap in the final quarter while saving ground. ILLINOIS TOM raced in spots. KIOSK showed nothing. MEMPHIS LAD, a forward factor from the start, raced up with the pace rounding the first turn and, although forced to race on the outside, forged to the front after going the first half mile, closed strongly in the final eighth and just managed to last to win narrowly. SAN IGNACIO, having good speed throughout, stayed with the pace while saving ground, closed with a rush in the last eighth and was wearing down the winner at the finish. AMBO, very slow to settle into stride, closed much ground in the final quarter while racing on the inside. LIGHT TIDE raced evenly and could never reach the leaders. LAST ROSE set the pace by a short margin for a half mile, then tired. EARLSBORO showed some early speed. Scratched— 23136 Queens Barge, 108; 23355 Bold Grafton, 111; 22861 Buttermilk, 104. CATECHISM, well back in the early stages, closed much ground going down the back stretch the last time around, closed strongly after reaching the stretch, but was not good enough. SIR LIVERY, away last, moved up steadily while racing on the inside and was going strongly at the end. BLAZEAROUND raced evenly, but was never able to improve her position. ENGLISH HARRY closed some ground in thev final half. MINOTIRA tired after forcing* the pace for the first half. DI VERNON set the pace to the final eighth, then tired badly.
