Illinois SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 14. Trainer Glen Gorbet will send the six , horses he has in his care to Fairmount Park following the close of this meeting. The horses in the Gorbet stable are Jane-! pola, Imperial Jones, Speedy Valley and I Wee Valley, who race in his own name. ; Others are Royal Count, the property of Mrs. S. Gorbet, and Hard Biscuit, who belongs to E. E. Chanock. James Caldwell, of Abbeyville, La., re-i ports that he lost a yearling colt by Jerry and Thistle Cleo at his farm when the colt j suffered a broken neck in a fall. Caldwell I has seven other horses which are stabled at [Washington Park. The horses are being trained by Frank Grand. The twelve-stall electrical starting gate that was used at Hawthorne last fall has been shipped to Lincoln Fields. The gate i is a Bahr stall gate. A six-stall Bahr gate is being shipped to Washington Park from I Louisville to be used as a starting gate. G. R. "Buddy" Wingfield, who took over j the starters job here for the last six days i of the meeting, will leave for his home in j Miami, Fla., at the close of the meeting. iWingfields next starting job will be at Narragansett Park for the fall meeting. Apprentice E. Guerin, who is under contract to J. B. Theall, will depart for Detroit, Mich., after this meeting to join the stable which is being shipped to that point the end of the week. The horses Tomgee, Oakwoods Lad and Flora Span, the property of C. H. Peterson were shipped to Beulah Park Monday. Frank Murphy is trainer of the Peterson horses. Monte Parke departed for Fairmount Park where he will take up six horses that , were shipped there from Arlington, Texas. i The horses are the property of A. Mc-Knight. Trainer Paul L. Kelley has taken over the horse Gay Elf to train for Joe Bollero for the balance of the current meeting. The horse will be shipped to Detroit after this meeting comes to a close. R. J. Gilmore, field representative of the Horsemens Benevolent Society, returned here from Louisville, Ky., where he attended a meeting of the horsemen in that area. William Regan, who has been acting as a placing judge during the spring meeting here, will depart for his home at Miami Beach, Fla., at the close of the current meeting. Joe Bollero sent the four-year-old gelding Dr. South to Detroit. Bollero left several days ago to take up the Lexbrook Stable horses. Jockey J. E. Oros will depart for Detroit, Monday, where he will join the stable of Parke and Connard, which Is being shipped to that point from Sportsmans Park. Roy Selden. who has two horses in his stable at this time, has transferred them to Lincoln Fields. They are Fabens and J Commentator. The Mrs. Emil Denemark stable will be represented by 10 horses at Fairmount Park. This division will be trained by William A. Mikel. The Denemarks will also race a large stable at Lincoln Fields. Larry "Irish" Boyle was a vistor here for a few days before he went to Lincoln Fields to take over the duties as custodian of the jockeys room. Boyle motored here from Louisville, Ky. Trainer Chester Adams reports that he has sent the three-year-old horse, First Round, back to the farm after he failed to stand training. The horse is the property of E. Sandstrom. Gordon Morrow, who has been acting as clerk of the scales here, will depart for Toronto, Can., for a short vacation before he goes to Boston, Mass. Jockey James Ferris stopped over at Sportsmans Park for a few days before going to Omaha, Neb., to ride. The lad has been riding at Narragansett. Charles Trimble, who has- been holding down the job of timer here, plans on leaving for the West Coast to visit his daughter, who resides in Los Angeles, Calif. L. H. Thomp jn brought in four horses from his farm at Sedalia, HI. The horses, which had been turned out during the winter, are stabled at Hawthorne Park. Jockey Harry Schuling, who . has been resting up since he figured in a fall here several days ago, returned to the saddle Thursday. H. Reineman purchased the six-year-old gelding, Highscope, from Paul L. Kelley. Kelley will continue to train the gelding for the new owner. Trainer R. J. Rossi has taken over the training of the two-year-old filly, Julius Kibbe. The filly is the property of Miss Popman. L. A. Conner, who does the training of the Hilltop Stock Farm, is making plans to ship seven horses to the Fairmount Park race course on the 19th of May. George Keeton, a former owner of a stable of racers, is a visitor here for a few days. Keeton arrived from Louisville, Ky., where he took in the Derby. M. A. Silagy, Jr., checked in with the two horses Rosin and Tommys Luck from his farm at Elgin, 111. Silagy will train his own stable. The condition books for the forthcoming Iincoln Fields meeting were distributed among the horsemen at Sportsmans Park. Clarence E. Davison sent the six-year-old mare Honey Seat back to the farm at Naperville, 111. Trainer E. R. Morris sent the two horses, Pretty Rose and Charming Sudie, to Detroit. H. C. Hoffman will send his three-horse stable to Fairmount Park, where they will be campaigned during that meeting.
