Sportsmans Card Almost Devoid of Sprint Events Only Single Race Under Seven Furlongs on Todays Program CICERO, 111., May 14.— Despite the fact that tomorrows card of eight races lacks an outstanding feature, patrons who attend the Sportsmans Park races will be provided with a very interesting program. With the exception of the third event, all the races will be contested over the distances of seven furlongs or over. The Grant Park Purse, the sixth race on the program, which takes the place of the original, which failed to fill, will rate as the feature event of the afternoon. This event brings together five routers of the ,250 claiming class. Although those entered overnight cannot be classed as top-notch horses, a closely contested race is assured. Black Time, a five-year-old gelding from the stable of Mrs. C. Willis, who is making his third start at the meeting, looks the one most likely to go postward as the pub- lie choice. This gelding won his last race here at the same distance he will be required to travel here. The son of Black Warwick finished four lengths in front of such horses as Firing Pin and Connie Ann. The Willis gelding is at his best now and can be counted upon to give a good account of himself in this field. Mrs. Emil Denemarks four-year-old gelding, Lactose, appears as the most dangerous foe in the Grant Park, as he has also won a race at the distance and has always been a hard-hitting horse in all his previous races here. Next to the first two j mentioned, most trouble is likely to come ! from Speedy Squaw, from the stable of i C. H. Dursch. This game mare won her I last start by two lengths over Purling I Light and Takitfrome. Yondell E. and Purling Light are the others scheduled to compete in the feature:
