CHINA moved into the lead on the outside when straightened out in the stretch and held on gamely m the final test. THETA GIRL displayed the most early speed and finished courageously. FLYING STRIFhb displayed early speed, but raced wide in the last quarter. MISS LANCASTER closed some ground. HANDIGAL appeared to drop back into third place rounding the far turn, but moved up fast on the inside rounding the stretch turn, taking command, but was hustled along nearing the end to retain her advantage. BYCHANCE closed very fast on the outside through the final eighth. LEICESTER also finished with a rush in the last eighth. RED COIN saved ground, showed early speed, but tired in the last eighth, as did DARBY DONNA. The race was run in a driving rain, making it impossible to distinguish colors. CHANCE TEA moved up fast rounding the far turn and, taking command entering the stretch, drew away decisively in the run home. RAYMOND raced forwardly throughout and held the others safe. FUNDERBURG closed strongly on the outside through the stretch. HARGRAM raced clofe up, but on the outside of opposition much of the trip. NORMAN SLOAT tired. TYRO LAD broke slowly and dosed much ground. SPORTING GOODS dwelt when the break came. JOSIE JANE broke down badly and bad to be destroyed.
