Briton Displays Promise ELMONT, L. I., N. Y., May 15.— The victory of Briton on Wednesday at Belmont Park was greatly pleasing to Mel Emerich and Tony Pelleteri, owners of the Millsdale Stable, as they paid ,300 for the son of Bosworth and Fireship at the Saratoga yearling sales of 1940 and were unable to get him to the post until the recent Pimlic meeting. Briton displayed a courage -effort in wearing down Star Beacon, well-bred first-time starter from Fc. catcher Farms, and running the mile in 1:38%, and trainer Pat Dwyer believes l.t will show improvement and perhaps d -velop into a stake performer.
