RISSA had speed from the start, disposed of KLEIG LIGHT for the lead, drew clear and, holding on stubbornly through the stretch, had enough in reserve to hold SEE SEE safe. The latter, prominent throughout ~and lightly reserved for a half mile, fought it out determinedly to the close. TRIMMED was rushed up on the outside rounding the far turn and continued with good energy in the closing drive. BRIAR PLAY closed an immense gap after trailing early. KLEIG LIGHT displayed good early speed, then tired in thelast five-sixteenths. SOUTHERN JANE was going willingly at the end. EQUISTONE was unable to threaten. ALEGRE, permitted to settle into his stride without being called _upon for the first three-eighths, began moving up on the outside and, swinging to the outside of his field in the stretch, responded gamely to hard riding and was along in the last few strides. LADY INSCO displayed the most speed, met early contention from PAL and, while disposing of him, was unable to cope with the bid of the winner. TWO PAIR, well placed and on the inside through the back stretch, continued with good energy in the closing drive. EQUIPLAY moved up gamely nearing the stretch turn, only to tire under pressure in the last eighth. DREAM FOX, outrun early, was go;ng stoutly at the end. PAL faltered after forcing the early pace. VALDINA CAPTOR was unable to keep up .with the pace in the last three-eighths. Scratched— Blue Duke, 109. Overweight — Aunt Millie, 2 pounds. Daily Double on the First and Second Races Paid 0.40. Catrone : bred by Valdina Farms. WENT TO POST— 3:49. OFF AT 3:51 EASTERN WAR TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving ; second and third the same. VALDINA MARL, prominent from the start and under slight reserve early, fought it out stubbornly with RESULTS and. gaining a short lead after straightening out in the stretch, drew clear under pressure through the last eighth. RESULTS, hard ridden from the start, gained a short lead and, while fighting it out determinedly, was unable to go along with the winner in the closing drive. JERRY LEE raced forwardly throughout and held on gamely to the finish. NOSLEN, hard hustled from the start, held on willingly in the closing test. LIBERTY JR., under vigorous urging early to hold to a forward position, was unable to better his position in the drive. MY MALLIE was unable to close any appreciable amount of ground in the final drive. FALSE FACE made up some ground after beginning slowly. HYDATE was unable to reach the leaders. ROCKET GAL moved up fast in the opening eighth, gained command, drew clear when reaching the stretch and increased her advantage steadily in the closing eighth. OOMPH, prominent all the way, held on with good energy during the closing test. MERRY RHYME, away fast but unable to outrun FRESH MONEY, was down on the inside and dropped back, was in close quarters until nearing the stretch and closed willingly when obtaining clear sailing. FRESH MONEY showed speed from the start, but was unable to keep pace through the stretch run, although holding on willingly. COLLEGE BELLE closed a good gap from a slow start. BRIDLEOUR was going willingly at the close. SHASTA FIDDLE moved up gamely in the stretch, faltering in the last eighth. MEDID was unable to reach the leaders. VALDINA TOUT, under steadying restraint while in nearest pursuit of the early pace, took command when called upon, but had to be vigorously ridden through the last eighth to outlast MISFLYING. The latter, steadied along back of the pace, moved up on the inside through the stretch and fought it out gamely. A claim of foul was lodged aeainst the winner, but was not allowed. ENHANCE had speed, drew clear when reaching the back stretch and. rated along under slight restraint, was unable to eo along with the first two when challenged. ARTHUR MURRAY was unable to reach the leaders. LIBERTY CAP trailed for most of the way. SNARLEYOW moved up determinedly midway of the turn, then dropped back after offering a mild bid. BRANMINTAN, quickest to begin, was taken under slight restraint when POWDER BLUFF went to the front, moved up to take command entering the stretch and drew out steadily. POMPECO, taken back during the early stages, began moving up in the last five-sixteenths, was placed under punishment through the stretch, but was unable to endanger the winner. PAIRCAIS, outrun during the first half, closed willingly during the remainder of the way. NATOMAS went evenly under hard urging. FIRST SON showed speed for the first half, tiring during the closing quarter. POMPA NEGRI was unable to keep up. BULRUSH was never a factor. POWDER BLUFF quit badlv. Scratched— 22584 Fly Ty, 109. FORSOOTH, slow to start, trailed his company, began moving up stoutly on the outside in the last five-sixteenths and, holding to position well out in the track, closed in determined fashion and was along in the closing stride. ORENCO, steadied along in near pursuit of the pace, wore down DAINTY FORD for the lead when reaching the stretch and, while holding on gamely, was not quite good enough. NEDDIE BOY, well placed and slightly reserved early, held on determinedly under punishment. BURGOO TRAIL made up ground, although unable to reach the leaders. BLACK ONE closed ground after being far back early. CREAKLE began moving up on the outside through the back stretch. DAINTY FORD quit badly during the stretch run after having cut out the runnine for most of the way. QUAROMA failed to threaten. Scratched— 23072 Blue Castle, 109; 23165 Dear Yankee, 120. SKIRMISH, a trailer until the last three-eighths, closed an immense gap and was going stoutly at the end. DRUCO SYSKA closed a good gap. CUCKOOemade a bold bid when rounding the far turn, but tired in the last quaiter. RICHESTAN was unable to enter into contention. OLD RIVER was outrun. PORT SPIN tired.
