GABLESTOWN displayed speed from the beginning, bore in slightly when entering the stretch, drew out quickly when straightened up and, kept under good urging to the end, had little left. BIG CASINO, close up and on the inside from the beginning, was taken back to escape possible interference on the stretch turn and closed evenly after coming out. BULLISH, away slowly, lost ground on the turn, swerved to the inside in the stretch and closed fast. GAY SECRET, sluggish early, also closed strongly MR. R. S. began fastest and was racing in front when he bolted on the stretch turn. TRACK ACE began well, but did not keep up on the turn. BUSYBO did not extend himself early. CAST OFF drew out fast after reaching the turn, was shaken up soon after reaching the stretch and, returned to light urging in the last eighth, held sway to the end. EPIZAR, badly outrun to the last quarter, came with a rush on the outside thereafter. LOOKOUT RASCAL went prominently from the start and held on well. LAZY MAID, outrun early and raced wide, closed with good speed. FAIR SAND, away poorly and raced wide, was much used in the early stages and weakened in the final eighth. IRON DON had no mishap. DUCK BERRY, taken in hand after racing into the lead, remained under restraint until straightened in the stretch, responded to light pressure and probably had something left. TIGHT GRIP, fractious at the post, began slowly, moved up gradually and, holding on well, stalled off JETT-JETT The latter also off slowly, raced wide and closed evenly after entering contention on the turn. HAIR STYLIST dwelt slightly at the break, closed a gap in the stretch and showed a good effort. CHICALM0. between horses much of the race, tired gradually in the last eighth. AMERICAN WAVE, away fast and having speed, was taken under stronger restraint as she drifted out on the turn, sprinted into a commanding lead with a rush after reaching the last three-sixteenths and continued to the end. BREEZY LOUISE showed speed under energetic riding from the start, could not withstand the winner, yet held on fairly well. PLENTITUFF, slowest to begin and raced wide, gained gradually and finished courageously in his good performance. SWEET GIRLIE closed fast on the inside. STATIC CHASER was under urging after reaching the stretch, but was unable to keep up. SANTA CLAUS, away fast and taken in hand early, came out in the stretch and, wearing down BOSAGE, withstood the bid of FRISKY SPIRIT. The latter, away slowly, moved up boldly through the final sixteenth, where he found room between horses and was getting to the winner. BOSAGE raced to the lead gradually, was under pressure after reaching the last eighth and weakened in the late stages. OLD KENTUCK, slow to respond, started up between horses on the stretch turn, cut to the inside in the last quarter, but came out when racing strongly and but for lacking room in the last eighth might have finished closer up. SYLS BOBBY weakened in the drive. HANDY LAD ran an even race. FINAL GLORY displayed high speed to the last three-sixteenths, then weakened. CALM PORT, blocked early, bore out on the stretch turn. MIGHTY STORY, steadied along to the last quarter, responded willingly and, wearing down the leaders, appeared ready to draw away. WITH PLEASURE forced the pace under good handling, cut to the inside as DARK JUNGLE drifted out nearing the last eighth, was in close quarters briefly as DARK JUNGLE swerved toward the inside nearing the last sixteenth and hung on gamely when clear, but failed to withstand the winner. DARK JUNGLE took command quickly, held sway under a good hold to the stretch, swerved out when settling into the drive, veered to the inside while weakening in the last eighth, but held HARVEYS PAL safe. The latter bumped WITH PLEASURE when leaving the starting gate, was blocked on the first turn, remained under restraint to the last five-sixteenths and closed well through the middle of the track. BOBS PICK had no mishap. SGT. SPENCE weakened early and showed little. BANK BALANCE was far back when blocked by the tiring SEAMANS PAL leaving the backstretch. Scratched-99121 The Dude, 123. GOBLIN, having the benefit of the pace, started forward in the stretch, swerved while wearing down the leaders and was under pressure to the end. PIE MAN raced unnecessarily wide and, placed to pressure suddenly when approaching the final half mile, was in hand for a brief time on the stretch turn, then got to the front while swerving in the drive and, giving way to the winner, stalled off NONCHALANTA. The latter, in hand to the final turn, gave way slightly soon after reaching the stretch, but came again to finish well. DOTS RISK was rushed into the lead and weakened in the stretch. ANTE LIGHT bore out early and closed fairly well, although out of contention. SCH0LARITY lost ground early and had speed, but quit. Overweight— Ante Light, 21 pounds; Cant Sweep, 5; Scholarity, 1.
