Y., June 6.— After a weeks delay, during which the races were held at Belmont Park as the guests of the Westchester Racing Association, the Queens County Jockey Club returns to its home course at Aqueduct with the races of Mon- day, June 10. No change in post time will be made, the first race being carded for 1 :15 p. m., daylight savings time, and eight races i a day will be held, with the new steeplechase and hurdle courses ready for action. The return to Aqueduct will give race followers their first glimpse of the renova- tions and additions, construction of which caused the delay in racing at the track. Chief among these is an addition to the grandstand at the nort end, where a com- pletely new, concrete addition has been built i on to the old stands. Lack of steel at present ! prevented the carrying of this new stand | into the mezzanine as it is in the old sec- . tions, but the lower grandstand has been completed, providing room for the better part of ten thousand patrons. Additional pari-mutuel equipment has been added, to bring the total of windows up to 559; drainage for the track has been improved - and entrances from both the train ! and automobile gates enlarged. All con- struction has been with a view to continuing work in 1947 when it is hoped material will | be more obtainable. The parking lots will, as usual, be open to the public and the Long Island Railroad will I provide special train service direct to the j gates, returning after the races.
