Hum Signs Apprentice Young ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, 111., June 19. Trainer Dave Hum, who has a string of four horses here which race under the name of his wife, has signed the apprentice, Elmer Young, to a contract and hopes to get him started during the meeting here. Young was formerly employed by Hum before he served in the Navy. He hails from Houston, Texas, and can do 102 pounds. Milton Kite will handle the lads book during the meeting.
