VALDINA MATH broke fast, opened a clear lead, lost command in the stretch to BIG THICKET, then came again under stout handling and out-finished the latter. BIG THICKET saved ground while closing in on the winner, rallied to take command on the outside, then faltered in the final strides. ANOTHER BEL was a forward factor and had no excuse. PILATES OWN closed willingly. SINGING BID saved ground in a good effort. NEW DEALER showed nothing. TRANSVAAL II. weakened under steady urging. MOUNTAIN RUN was outrun. VANS VICKIE raced evenly and had no mishap. SARATOGA POLLY had brief speed. MAD SADIE, caught in close quarters in the first half mile, never recovered. CO-LAWYER, well handled when outrun the first half mile, responded to stout pressure nearing the furlong pole, caught BILLY PERRY inside the final sixteenth and continued to outfinish the latter. BILLY PERRY was under a tight hold to the quarter pole, moved up on the outside to assume command and fought it out gamely when challenged. WILLOWMARK forced the pace for six furlongs, then failed when put to a drive. TRIPOS improved his position steadily after being outrun early. DUAL PURPOSE made up ground under intermittent pressure. SUNSHADE was under a tight hold while setting the pace, then weakened under a drive. BUCK SERGEANT made a determined bid on the turn, then flattened out. CABBIE BOY had no mishap. KENGAR, prominently placed under light restraint for a half, slipped through on the inside, responded to pressure and was up in the final stride. VIM showed good speed from the start, maintained a short lead, was roused entering the stretch and held on tenaciously to the end. CLOUDY WEATHER responded to steady urging in the final furlong to close willingly. TAKING WAYS, outrun to the final quarter, closed fast on the outside. ROGUISH SHOT weakened in the stretch after running with the leaders from the start. EASY QUERO closed with a rush on the outside, challenged for the lead, then faltered under strong handling. JACKS GIRL went evenly. MERRY SUNSHINE failed to respond to urging LISTEN TIGER saved ground while showing early speed. LAZY BONES weakened under a drive. GENERAL JACK was outrun. CO HATTER quit. SILEE was hustled from the beginning to remain near the leaders, moved up on the outside after a half mile, drew clear and won with speed in reserve. O. G. KELLEY displaced MISS MARIETTA when the latter weakened, but was unable to match strides with the winner. VALIENTE broke alertly, was not hustled when outrun in the first quarter, raced very wide when making move and finished out in the middle of the track. B-FORTY-EIGHT was under steady urging to finish fast on the outside WISE BRUNETTE was unable to keep up. MISS MARIETTA showed keen speed in setting the early pace, then faltered under intermittent pressure. HEMLOCK saved ground and had no mishap. JANANN W. trailed. ELMO T., under light restraint while close to the early leaders, moved up on the outside to assume command, was roused to shake off FREE TRANSIT, then drew out at the end. FREE TRANSIT followed close behind TIGER CALL for three furlongs, moved up to take a short lead, then held on gamely under pressure, only to falter in the final sixteenth. SANTA ELISA closed fast with a belated rush through the stretch. ARIEL ACTRESS saved ground and had no excuse. TIGER CALL weakened under steady urging after being displaced. RING CURTAIN was prominently placed for the first half mile. BLENBAN rallied mildly entering the stretch. BARUNA and KING LEROY were outrun. Jockey Duffy was injured when TIGER CALL squeezed hfs leg against the starting gate and a delay of twelve minutes was necessary to obtain a substitute rider. SKY SKIPPER was sent to the front soon after the start, drew clear, was steadied along with a comfortable lead, then was put under a steady drive from the head of the stretch. FLOURTOWN, in closest attendance from the start, held on gamely, but was unable to reach the winner. DOG TROT closed fast on the inside under stout handling. MISFLYING was sent up on the outside after five furlongs, then raced evenly. TRANSFRAN made up ground on the outside in the late stages. AIR BEAUTY was unable to remain with the pace after a half. VALDINA VICAR would not extend himself. CHOW quit after a brief rally. JAMOKEE retired steadily after having early speed and was not persevered with in the stretch. Scratched 00472 Halbarail, 104. GUNFLASH closed fast on the inside. MAL weakened under pressure. DUSKILY was outrun. HEMDAY rallied in the stretch, then flattened out in the final sixteenth. OLD UNION had speed from the start, came out sharply on the first turn, impeded WISE SUE and caused the latter to stumble and unseat her rider.
