S. Lipiec Issues Statement On Blacksmiths Incident FAIR. GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., June 19. Stanley Lipiec, leading trainer of the country in 1945, is a Detroit visitor, and he issued the following statement here today: "Ive been informed that the blacksmiths would like me to make a public statement that I was put on the unfair list by the platers because I used non-union help. That is true. It was an unwise and costly move for me and I am certainly sorry. Im here to get straightened out and I hope I can. "Im not happy doing anything but training horses. I want to get back and saddle some winners and Ill do anything within reason to get back. That should satisfy everyone. Signed "Stanley Lipiec."
