TAVISTOCK assumed command at once from the outside and drew clear to win as rider pleased. BULLET PROOF raced nearest the pace throughout and held on fairly well. FREDERIC II. raced within striking distance of the leaders from the start, bobbled slightly on two occasions, assumed command after the final fence and outfinished SIR BLUESTEEL. The latter, badly outrun for a mile, saved ground while rallying and fought it out willingly. PHALANGER was always forwardly placed while showing improved jumping form, but was forced to race wide while moving into serious contention. ON THE CUFF made a bad landing at the fifth jump and weakened slightly in the closing test SCURRY GAL fenced well while setting the pace to the final flat, then weakened slightly. PICTURE PRINCE fell at the seventh Jump and DUCKER lost his rider when he hit the fallen horse. Scratched O0693 Busy Moments, 135. Overweight Sir Bluesteel, 4 pounds; Scurry Gal, 3J. EVEN BREAK, not hurried while a forward factor early, circled the leaders to assume command and was ridden out while drawing clear of BABY KIDDIE. The latter displaced RUN BUD RUN on the turn, but could not resist the winner. TOP BEAU failed to rally under pressure. HIGH PEAK made up some ground and appears ready for best race over a distance of ground. PIQUANT was not good enough. RUN BUD RUN was in front early and quit badly when displaced. NOBLE CYCLOPS improved his position steadily and would have been closer had he not run out slightly entering the stretch. TIGER MAE weakened gradually. LOWER EGYPT had no apparent excuse. SPEEDING HOME failed to make up ground when set down for the drive. SHELTIE saved ground while within striking distance, but failed to respond to urging. ROMANOCK, outrun early, rallied too late to seriously threaten. IDEAL GIFT weakened after a half mile. MUGWUMP came back a trifle sore. VIVA TEDDY was steadied when ZAX cut across the first turn, raced forwardly placed throughout, but failed to rally. BRIGHT REMARK was not good enough. ASTRAL was taken up when ZAX came over at .the start and showed nothing. SPLIT THE WIND showed nothing. WENT TO POST-5:31. OFF AT 5:32 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Scratched 998752 Hasteville, 121.
