TOP CEILING was sent into a clear lead shortly after the beginning, was steadied in the lead and drifted out through the stretch, but held SNOOKS WINTERS safe under mild urging. The latter was hustled into a contending position on the outside, swung to the inside as the winner went wide and closed stoutly. GRAY DOTTIE, slow to find her best stride, closed with a rush. DUZIT moved into closer contention on the turn, made a weak bid in the stretch and hung. VALDINA BINA, sluggish early, was never dangerous. HARV AETHEL flashed early speed, but could not keep up. KANSHORE, slowest away, improved her position steadily allthe way, swung to the outside for the drive and, responding well, drew out at the end. NIECESUE, a stout contender between horses from the start, moved up threateningly to take a short lead between calls in the stretch, but could not match the bid of the winner. LANTERN, a stout contender on the outside all the way, went to the front briefly in the stretch, then weakened. CRAZY WHIRL, sluggish early, made up some ground on he inside, but could not threaten. WATCH WORD closed well from a slow beginnnig. SONNY HAYNES could not keep up. RAY had good early speed, but weakened badly. GYPSY LEA was never dangerous. OLD MEXICO, steadied close to the early leaders, moved to the front between horses through the stretch, then held BAYONET safe. The latter improved his position gradually, was sent between horses for the drive, threatened stoutly at the furlong pole and held on stubbornly. COUNTY BELLE, never far back, moved up dangerously on the inside in the stretch and continued stoutly. BROGDEN closed with a rush on the outside after being slow to settle in stride. TETRAMORE. was hustled into a clear lead in the backstretch, but weakened badly when challenged. GYPSY ACTRESS, on the outside early, could not keep up. DATSO quit badly after flashing early speed.
