LUCKY B. was not hurried early, moved up with a rush on the outside on the turn and, finishing stoutly, drew out to win easily. THISISIT opened up a long lead and saved ground, but could not withstand the winner. BEL REVERE moved into closer contention on the turn, challenged stoutly in the stretch and hung on well in a good effort. SLIDING HOME raced evenly and forwardly. BENGAL BOY was unable to engage the leaders. EBONY EDGE had good early speed, but quit VELVET HEELS could not keep up under hard urging. Velvet Heels claimed by M. H. VanBerg. CRACK REWARD, well handled, was not hurried early, responded well when called upon to dispose of GOLDEN MAN, drew clear in the stretch and held sway under mild urging. ANNIES REPLY, permitted to settle into stride, improved her position gradually on the outside and closed well, but was not good enough. BEN GRAY, very sluggish to find his speed, moved up gradually and finished well. REASON, a trailer early, moved up with a rush in the final furlong. .BOLO TIE had early speed while racing with the leaders, but weakened. ROMULUS was never prominent. ONE ONLY was done early, GOLDEN MAN had good early speed to set the pace and saved ground, but guit suddenly. Scratched 00203 Royal Flush, 108. PRONTO EAGLE was not hurried while saving ground early, disposed of AIR RAIDER to take command in the backstretch, drew clear when racing slightly wide entering the stretch and came on again when ERAZAL challenged. The latter, rated close to the early pace, was sent through on the inside for the drive and challenged stoutly, but was not good enough. AIR RAIDER had early speed, raced slightly wide entering the stretch and hung on well. VALDINA REX raced evenly, but was never dangerous. JAYAKAY was unable to improve his position while on the inside all the way. OLES GAL did not threaten at any time. KIDDIES IMAGE, fractious at the post, would not extend herself at any time. IRON WORKS improved his position steadily after being slowest to start, went around the leaders for the drive and was up in the last few yards. ELCAN, permitted to settle in stride, moved up guickly on the inside for the drive and finished stoutly. POET LAUREATE was sent after the leaders in tie backstretch and took a short lead on the outside on the turn, but was unable to resist the first two. SYRIAN BOY, a trailer for a half mile, moved up with a rush between horses and closed gamely. ALUMONT lacked speed at any time. SON OF HEELS had good speed into the stretch, but quit badly. MARKABILITY, under steadying restraint for a half mile, moved to the front readily on the outside on the turn, then drew clear in the stretch, but could not withstand the winner. ANNE AGAIN, permitted to settle into stride early, moved around on the outside on the turn and was sent between horses in the stretch, then finished stoutly. FAVORITE TRAP raced forwardly and evenly, made a stout bid through the stretch and held on well. HELENS BOY, very sluggish early, closed some ground. HERE GOES had good early speed and took command after a half mile, but gave way suddenly. Overweight Anne Again, 1 pound; Fannie Mac, 3. Devilsand claimed by Grissom and Sherman.
