MAD VIXEN displaced SNOWGO, obtained a clear advantage leaving the turn, drew into a commanding lead in the early stretch and lasted while drifting out slightly in the drive. WAR SWORD, outrun early, moved into contention boldly after a half, then hung while being taken out in an attempt to circle the leader. THE CONGA was shuffled back early and turned in a good effort. SNOWGO quit badly after being headed. BELLE COLE was prominent throughout and tired. CURFEW GIRL closed willingly. ACKLEY showed nothing. GREY-DEL was through early. MARJORIE T. showed nothing. DONAS PAST had little chance with the start. Claims of foul by Carroll against the winner and Arduini against WAR SWORD were not allowed. STRAWRIDE fenced well throughout, moved into the lead on the final turn and outgamed STROLLING ON. The latter improved his position gradually during the first mile, fought it out willingly, but was not good enough. HIMMEL pressed the pace for a mile and quit. DRINTOWN had no mishap. SPIKERY fenced poorly while showing in front for a mile and a half, weakened thereafter and bobbled at the twelfth and thirteenth jumps. BOWLING LADY moved into serious contention after a mile and a half and was beaten when she fell at the final jump. BUSY MOMENTS jumps poorly and was trailing when she lost rider at the twelfth jump. BONNIE FLAG forged to the front soon after the start, was not seriously threatened and won easily. MISS SONIA rallied in the drive after being unable to keep up for a half. MILKMOUSE raced nearest the leader to midstretch and faltered. GOOD CROSS was shuffled back leaving the backstretch and again lacked room on the inside in the early stretch. MR. OVERLIN was hard ridden while disposing of NUALA early, then drew clear on the turn and just failed to last. LUBRA improved her position menacingly on the turn, then faltered.
