MAYOR LEO, never far back, was taken out slightly entering the stretch to find racing room, responded to strong handling when clear and disposed of CONFIRMATION in the last sixteenth. The latter, forced to take up sharply when caught in close quarters near the upper turn, moved up resolutely when clear and assumed command, but was unable to withstand the winner. NIGHT MISS went to the front early, bore out badly while making the pace to the stretch, then faltered after being straightened in the drive. HAPPY HASTE could not better his position when hard ridden through the stretch. MR. BONNIE was outrun. RED TAPE began slowly. NEWS REPORT did not appear" "to like the muddy track. SUFFICE, never far back but in close quarters approaching the stretch, came to the outside for the drive and, responding to strong handling, disposed of the leaders in the final furlong. HAPPY ME, a keen factor from the beginning, was between horses during the drive, but finished strongly in a good effort. TUCKIE assumed command at once, held on well to the stretch and went to the front again, but weakened in the closing strides. GREAT CARD, outrun early, moved up boldly when sent to the inside for the drive, but faltered nearing the finish. JUDGE SALES, outrun to the stretch, closed fast under punishment. KEE-HO tired badly after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. HOT DAYS, away slowly and racing greenly, was never dangerous. JEANNIE PIE, never far back and smartly ridden, came to the outside entering the stretch and, responding to brisk urging, assumed command, then held on determinedly to withstand GRACIE VEE. The latter, a keen factor from the outset, closed stoutly when roused in he drive, but could not overhaul the winner. DOGGIN IT went to the front after three furlongs, then weakened. CASA CAMARA, on the inside and in the deepest footing, reached the lead early, but failed to stay under vigorous urging. CANT CATCH ME made a bold bid approaching the stretch, then tired. CLOTHES HORSE lacked early speed, but finished strongly. MID VICTORY, on the outside, never was dangerous. BLUE GRASS did not like the muddy track. SINGLE GLEAM was outrun. SYLVIA DEAR could not keep up. BOWSTRING was done early. TWOSY, well handled and forwardly placed after the start, was sent to the outside entering the stretch and, after taking command, continued gamely to withstand WITCH SIR. The latter, a sharp factor throughout, reached the lead after three-eighths, could not hold the winner, but held on determinedly to best the others. EQU I FOX, avay sluggishly and outrun to the final quarter, finished fast in a good effort. LEGISLATOR raced evenly and had no excuse. NELLIE WEED, away slowly, was hustled into serious contention after the start and held on well thereafter, but was unable to menace the winner. FINAL GLORY worked his way forward steadily to the stretch, but could not better his position under brisk handling thereafter. EXPEDITER was never dangerous and labored in the heavy going. OVERCROSS gave way after racing prominently to the stretch. BURGOOLETTE tired badly during the drive.
