MONS BOY went to the front early established a clear lead and won as his rider pleased. MANNEQUIN, never far back, came willingly when roused for the stretch run, but could not menace the winner. LUXEMBOURGER, on the inside throughout, failed to rally when set down in the drive. MEANGEN could not keep up after showing early speed. LAZY SHOES began fast, but failed to stay. GYPSY LEA was outrun. ROSSIE DERBY, shuffled back after the start, was never dangerous. PETROSE GIRL was done early. GRATIFY was never a serious factor. SWEEP SWINGER saved ground when outrun to the upper turn, moved up fast approaching the stretch and swerved to the inside when punished, but easily drew clear without need of urging. SKYLARK went to the front early, made the pace to the final furlong, then was unable to withstand the winner. ONE UP could not better his position when briskly handled during the stretch run. MISS AMERICA began sluggishly. BENEVA tired after showing speed to the stretch. VIENNA WALTZ gave way after engaging SKYLARK to the final quarter. PUDDLE JUMPER began alertly, but could not keep up. BIG BURLEY, going in his best form, improved his position steadily to the stretch, assumed command when sent to the outside for the drive and retained his advantage under brisk handling. DISBET, never far back, reached the lead approaching the stretch, then was unable to withstand the winner. BAY ACRE began slowly, but finished fast. OZZIE lacked early speed and was never dangerous. AUNT LUCY made the pace for five-eighths, then quit. SMOKEY gave way after racing prominently to the stretch. ELK HILLS tired. Overweight— Disbet. 2 pounds. Big Burley claimed by Mrs. L. Wolf.
