Name W. H. Johnston Sportsmans President Treasurers Post to Mrs. Bidwill; Elect Ray Bennigsen Secretary SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero. 111.. May 9. — William H. Johnston today was elected , president of the National Jockey Club,! operators of Sportsmans Park to succeed the late Charles W. Bidwill. Johnston, a fanner Chicagoan, makes his home in Jacksonville, Fla., and had been associated with Bidwill when they purchased con-, trolling interest in the Cicero half-mile ; course from John L. Keeshin last fall, j Johnston was also a partner with Bidwill ! in the operation of four dog tracks in Florida. Mrs. Violet Bidwill, the widow, was named treasurer of the association, and Ray Bennigsen, secretary. It is expected that Mrs. Bidwill will take an active interest in her late husbands affairs, which include control of the Chicago Cardinals, of the National Football League, and the Bentley, Murray Printing Company. Bennigsen was named recently to the presidency of the Cardinals, head of the printing firm, and general manager of Hawthorne, which Bidwill operated last year for the Carey estate. A brother of the new president of Sportsmans Park, John R. Johnston, a resident of Tulsa, Okla., was re-elected vice-president. Mrs. Bidwill and Bennigsen were added to the board of directors, which includes Hugo Bennett, auditor. F. R. Anderson, an Indiana farmer; Alderman James B. Bowler, W. H. Johnston, State Senator Frank Ryan, J. R. Johnston, and Charles Wolfe, of Pittsburgh, Pa.
