Bedwell Saddled Sir Barton PIMUCO, Baltimore, Md., May 9. — H. Guy Bedwell, who saddled Sir Barton, a Preakeness winner in 1919 for Commander J. K. L. Ross, the Canadian turfman, will be one of the oldtimers watching the 57th running of this stake tomorrow afternoon. In addition, Bedwell has the distinction of having led the list of American trainers for seven years, 1917 being his seventh year at the top of the list. Hirsch Jacobs tied that mark in 1939, then went on to his eighth in 1941, and then led the next three years to establish the present mark of 11.
