- Risk Dies After Foaling LEXINGTON, Ky., June 3.— Risk, * 20-year-old mare by Sir Gallahad III. — Risky, died at Claiborne Stud earlier this week, according to her owner, A. B. Hancock. The mare, who is dam of Beaugay, Sky Larking, Little Risk, Danger Point, and the stallion Pericles, died shortly after foaling a colt by Menow. She was the last mare of the year to foal at Claiborne and brought the total to 26 colts and 14 fillies be-longing to the farm. Approximately 150 mares have new foals at the Paris nursery. Owner Hancock reports one of Risks sons, Pericles, was sold as a yearling to William Helis for 6,000. A sister to Sky Larking, Blue Fantasy, brought 6,000 on the block. Beau-gay, Risks most widely known daughter, proved a real bargain for Mrs. Elizabeth Graham. She was purchased as a yearling at Keeneland for 2,000, and earned close to 50,000. Shes now at Spendthrift Farm and was bred to Jet Pilot earlier this spring.
