DELHANNAH went to the front at the start, made the pace to the stretch under good rating, then gamely withstood a brisk drive to hold WILMAR safe. The latter, forwardly placed from the beginning, closed determinedly under punishment, but could not overtake the winner. CATNIP HILL was unable to better his position when hard ridden through the stretch. PUSSY WILLOW raced evenly and had no mishap. SPRING FOLLY had early speed and pulled up bleeding from the mouth. QUINTERO was never dangerous. SWEEP SWINGER began sluggishly. LUCKY HIT was outrun. BLACK TWEETIE could not keep up. MR. TOLSON had brief speed and was eased after going lame. SUN UMBER, in hand while racing well placed to the stretch, assumed command when settled for the drive and then held on gamely to withstand, OXFORD DON. The latter went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, came again after losing the lead, but could not overtake the winner. HI NEIGHBOR moved up boldly approaching the stretch, but could not improve his position when set down in the drive. HIGH TEST was outrun and had no mishap. MOMO FLAG was never a serious factor. REBATE failed to respond when hard ridden through the stretch. ROTAMAL dwelt at the start, losing all chance. DRUM FIRE failed to stay after showing early speed. Scratched— 751962 Carpet Sweep, 108. Overweight— Big Burly, 2 pounds. Attendance, 7,769; Total Mutuel Pool, 53,834.
