Oak Brook Challenge Cup Brings Out Field of Ten Paul Butlers Some Gold Seeks Repeat Tally in Three-Mile Test HINSDALE, 111., June 3.— The first renewal of the Oak Brook Challenge Cup, featured three-mile timber attraction on tomorrows six-race program sponsored by the Oak Brook Hunt, has attracted 10 cross-country performers. Heading the line-up is Paul Butlers Some Gold, winner of the inaugural running last year. Operating this season under sanction of the Hunts Committee of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association, the local session will offer four sanctioned events and two other races to balance out the card. Winner of the King Haiglar in Camden, S. C, earlier in the season, Some Gold_ went on to finish second in the Louie Leith;" Middleburg, Va., and the famous Virginia Gold Cup, Warrenton, Va. Beaver Kill, a winner on the Midwest hunt racing circuit last year, will be coupled with the former. Others in the grueling contest over 18 timber fences include Carter P. Browns Moonshee, Judge E. L. McConaughys High Sail, John W. Hughes Boy Scout, A. D. Plamondon m.s Bayberry, Burford Dan-ners Miss Peru, Mrs. Russell Van Brunt, Jr.s, Hunters Fancy and P. T. Cheffs entry of Lanstip and Friars Melody. Friars Melody has accounted for two important cross-country races this season. Making his debut a winning one, he captured the featured North Carolina Hunt trophy at Tryon, N. C, last month, and last Saturday he was returned the victor in the timber race at Louisville, Ky. Stephen C. Clark, Jr., steward for the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association, and John E. Cooper, secretary, will be in attendance and will preside in the stand with Carter P. Brown, secretary of the Mid-Western Hunt Racing Association.
