SADIE BROWN, never far back, lost considerable ground while moving up, disposed of the leaders on the outside and drew clear. RAMONA went up on the rail on the far turn and took a slight lead, held on well, but was not good enough. MELLA VALENTI trailed in the opening stages, forged through on the rail when ready for the drive and closed resolutely. TOP SOLDIER, never far back, went up between horses with good courage in the drive. GRAN CITELLA was blocked momentarily on the turn, forged between horses to gain the lead briefly and weakened. ROCKY SIR was slow to begin. BALLA FLIGHT lost ground. DEE WASH quit. SAYBIRD ran wide coming out of the turn and quit CHAR-LAW, under hard punishment after a quarter, quit badly.
