Matron Stake Main Event On Fairmount Park Card FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, HI., June 3.— The ,000 Matron Stake for three-year-old pacers will be featured tomorrow night, with approximately 2,000 offered in purses for the nine events. Ten three-year-olds will line up behind the starting gate ready to match strides with their future opponents in the rich pacing classics during the summer season. Last year, the Matron Stake for pacers was won by E. J. Hal in 2:07% over a half-mile track. The mighty midget Good Time H., 2:03%, winner of 6,433.13 in 1948 as a two-year-old, will make his first start in 1949 in this event at Fairmount and looms as the outstanding member in the field. This tiny but rugged little pacer stood just 13 hands two inches while rac ing last year and this spring has added a few inches to his height and is 14 hands. He will be teamed in all his engagements by the veteran Frank Iryin and is owned by Good Time Stable, Goshen, N. Y. The nine others include Miss Morris Chief Stucker, N. D. Hal Cartnal, Intangible and My Majesty from the stable of Del Cameron, Golden Mite Parshall, Pauls Pride Smith, Scotland Hal Argo, Stormyway Baldwin, and Favonian Chief, with Everett Osborn in the drivers seat.
