Seventeen Sophomores Named For 0,000 Motor City FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., June 3. —The 0,000 Motor City Stakes, one mile and one-sixteenth allowance test for three-year-olds closed for entries June 1, and 17 top-flight sophomores are named for the important middle distance feature. Included in the group of Motor City eligibles expected to go postward here next Saturday, June 11, are the Peabody Memorial winner, Lexbrook Stables Lextown, John Marschs highly-regarded Ol Skipper, Hal Price Headleys Pella, Shakeme and Yes You, John Kinards Johns Joy and Montes Pride, Addison Stables Arise, Smasher, a representative of Keenelands president, Louis Lee Haggin H„ and Woodvale Farms Blue Grass Stakes winner, Halt. Others named for the Motor City are D. Hess Blue Lancer, Sylvester W. Labrots Taran, Peter A. Markeys Anthracite, Charles Rufis Blue Grip, Mrs. E. E. Dale Shaffers The Fat Lady, O. Frank Woodwards Kosadus, a recent winner at the Fair Grounds, and Our Request, representative of White and Thomas.
