Brooks Due at Downs Today CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 3. — Word was received from California that Steve Brooks would fly east tonight to ride Calumet Farms Fanfare in the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. Brooks will presumably be in the saddle when the half- brother to Coaltown is given his final blowout tomorrow morning. Doug Dodson, who rode Fanfare in his last two victories, had signed to pilot Big. Stretch for Greentree Stable before the colt came up with his big race in the Derby Trial.
