BATTLE RAIDER bore out while dueling for the lead rounding the turn, swung wide entering the stretch and outgamed DRESS AFFAIR. The latter went through on the rail to be on nearly even turns for the lead and just missed. BEST HOST broke in a tangle and I was far back early, saved ground when gaining best stride and closed resolutely. BEAN BALL was between horses while a sharp contender and forced out slightly entering the stretch. INDIAN FLOWER was forced out by the winner also. BROTHER MARCH had no excuse. ETERNAL GREAT held a slight t advantage from the beginning, swung out entering the stretch and outgamed ROYAL FREEDOM. The latter, never far back, went through on the rail to be with the leaders and just missed. MISS STONE improved position from the outside, lost some ground entering the stretch, gained the lead briefly and faltered. FISH FRY elected to take the overland route after a slew beginning. QUICK RETORT had good speed for a half mile and drifted out when tiring. EDNAS CHOICE lacked speed. THENDARA had early speed and gave way, as did MISS OAKHURST. MARA MOO quit badly after a half mile. TEDLIN established a clear lead before a quarter mile, held on stubbornly after being headed, but was not good enough. WITH SWORDS saved ground while going by tired horses. DARIUS sr weakened after a half mile, as did LORD GRAIL. BUMBASHOOT quit, as did BINDO. ROMAN WISE broke slowest, was hustled along to reach a contending position, disposed of the leaders on the outside and drew away. MISS MEGGY was between horses early while vying for the lead, came in when clear in midstretch, but was not good enough. VULCANIA made the pace along the backstretch until nearing the half-mile post, but lacked speed thereafter tc remain prominent and gained third by catching a tired horse. TED M. broke quickest but lacked speed to remain in command, went up on the outside when ready for the drive and, after displacing QUICK FIRE, was steadied along. The latter was slow to gather stride leaving the gate and had to be hard punished, reached the lead entering the first turn, was under restraint until leaving the final turn and faltered when set down for the drive. STRIKER PILOT, restrained for a half mile, went up with a rush on the outside rounding the turn, took command and drew out under brisk hand urging. BRANDY PUNCH stumbled at the start, went between horses to gain command briefly between calls on the final turn, but was not good enough.
