POLYPHONY outsprinted FLEET CROSS and MISS SHILOH for the lead, attained a commanding advantage in the early stretch and held FENNY POPPERS safe. The latter was slow to respond, but made up ground in the final furlong PORT BEAUMONT rallied boldly through the stretch. BUFFALO GAP raced evenly while a factor throughout FRUITION failed to respond. PETES VIGIL hesitated at the break, was outrun to the stretch and closed full of run while green. FLEET CROSS dueled for the lead for a half mile and quit. MISS SHILOH flattened out badly after racing prominently. LANDOM drove to the fore leaving the backstretch, was nicely rated while in front and heid RECLUSE safe. The latter, unhurried early responded through the stretch to be getting to the top one. GOOD VALLEY raced along the inside when outrun for the lead, made an effort to move to the leader from the outside nearing the furlong pole, but lacked a rally SOUNDNESS was in close quarters early. GOLD SCRIPT had a rough trip. STAN SWING was taken up sharply nearing the stretch and deprived of all chance. SKY AIR quit. THRIFTS CONNIE raced forwardly for a half mile and weakened. MORE BETTER assumed command immediately, was joined on the turn by SHINING HILLS, disposed of that one and drew clear to win easily DOUBLE ECHO dropped back early, swerved sharply in the early stretch and still was good enough to wear down SHINING HILLS. The latter was much used to engage the leader, weakened in the early stretch and when placed to the whip, swerved and faltered badly. PASS BOOK showed speed and retained her position in the running.
