Beckman Unit at Ascot CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 22.— Charles Beckman, Pittsburgh turfman, has his string of eight horses bedded down at Ascot .Park for the 43-day meeting which opens June 2. The five-year-old mare, Fluid Drive, tops the Beckman string. Fluid Drive was a ,500 claim by Beckman and spent the winter at her owners Mt. Oliver, Pa., farm. Others in Beckmans unit are Turkey Trot, Little Margie, Iced Over, Alvins Mom, Lyns Miracle, Peppers O., and the two-year-old Jake Mintz, the latter being named after the manager of heavyweight champion Ezzard Charles.
