INFINITY K., prominent from the beginning, reached the lead nearing the furlong marker and gamely withstood GENIES MATE. The latter responded readily when shaken for the final test and closed with good courage. NIFTY faltered when set down for the drive. MISS CROSSBOW came out for the. drive, but was not good enough. BIT 0 PROSE lacked a menacing rally. FLASHER and HAPPY WEST were always outrun. SPECIAL quit. ALBULIL never threatened. PRISSY BOY was through early. YARDTOWN faltered when placed to punishment, but held on willingly to be easily best of the others. DEEP WATER raced evenly through the late stages without mishap. DOCTOR L. E. failed to make up appreciable ground. BARBAZURE was outrun. IM DON quit CATSMEOW and ARNIE were never formidable. DOUBLE WHORL, slow to, reach her best stride, secured ample racing room along the inside rail entering the stretch and, after replacing ELKHORN, gamely withstood the latter. ELKHORN alternated on the lead with SNATCHED and the winner and held on tenaciously in a sharp effort. TRUMPETER moved up menacingly on the outside on the final turn, drifted out slightly entering the stretch and, under weak handling, was unable to overtake the leaders. SCOTLAND YARD tired in the footing. SIR BOB had no mishap. SNATCHED quit. SUN JAY raced wide. MARY GRACE was unable to keep up. BIMONT began tardily and lost all chance. CHANCE CLOUD made the pace to the Stretch under steady rating and in a long drive held BROWN SMOKE safe. The latter was guided to the inside for the drive and under pressure was rapidly wearing down the top one. ROMANDA, taken back from the early pace, rallied too late to seriously endanger the leaders. OCCUPATIONAL raced easily from the three-furlong marker to the stands without mishap. ROYAL IRISH, slow to begin, finished willingly along the rail. IRISH FLARE failed to attain the lead and tired. GRUMPITO, at home in the going, maintained a commanding lead when settled for the stretch run and increased his advantage during the late stages to win with speed in reserve. WHIRLING DOUGH raced in nearest attendance throughout, but under punishment could not seriously endanger the leader. FLOATING CLOWN came out to the better portion of the track for the drive, but failed to menace. OWENS CUTS caught tiring horses. LITTLE FLOWER lacked speed. BOO BOO SHOO was unable to keep up. BAM repulsed repeated challenges from ROSE BED and BOGALUSA and, after assuming a clear lead after a half mile, continued on gamely when ridden out. ROSE BED moved up menacingly oh the outside entering the stretch, then faltered. TORDAR failed to make up appreciable ground when hard ridden through the late stages. PROVIDENT closed determinedly and appears ready for a good route effort. GRAIN MARKET failed to stay. BOGALUSA quit. SHOW PLACE had no mishap. KASLICK, unhurried when outrun tarly, came to the outside to reach the lead midway of the final furlong and won drawing away. FLATBUSH held sway until well inside the final furlong, then weakened.
