OUTBIRD, in hand while saving ground early, swung to the outside in the stretch, responded to intermittent urging and was along to nip SUN FLAVOR. The latter forced the pace, raced JAMES D. into submission, but had nothing left. IF COMING rallied mildly on the extreme outside. JAMES D. faltered in the late stretch. MARVINA K., well. placed, had no mishap. HASH KNIFE raced evenly. AL BATTEN was never prominent. LOVE YOU showed nothing. APRIL DUKE showed a dull effort. The others were outrun. BOUNCING BABY broke alertly, dropped back and was steadied to the final quarter mile, responded to .strong pressure when sent up between horses and outfinished SILVER REWARD. The latter laid close to the pace, came to the inside when clear and closed willingly. FIESTA had speed along the inside, forced the pace and held on stubbornly. PROBATION assumed a short lead soon after the beginning, increased margin after a half mile, then faltered. MISLEAD lost ground on the extreme outside. 0. G. KELLEY passed tiring horses. FROZEN CUSTARD went evenly. MARSE ROBERT, close to the pace between horses, was pinched back on the. far turn, rallied slightly in the stretch, then quit. SORISKY had no mishap. WAR CHAMP, unable to. reach the lead along the inside was sent to the outside, but lacked a rally ESTA VEZ was outrun. MISS HUETT rushed boldly from the start, opened a long lead on the turn, came out to the middle of the track and, although shortening stride, lasted to hold TOMMYS MEMORY safe. The latter moved readily along the inside, was wearing down the winner, but failed to get up. BAY BLAZE broke running, was unable to go along with the leader, drifted out and lacked a closing rally. MARPHIL went evenly while saving ground. WISEVIEW showed nothing. SILVER LAMEE broke with the field, was taken up sharply and failed to make up appreciable ground. IRISH BIRTHDAY showed nothr ing. DUSTY DEMON, steadied while improving position gradually to the far turn, moved readily when roused, came around the leaders to assume command and drew out. KINGFISH raced in closest attendance of the "pace, responded when roused, but was not good enough. STAR OF DUBLIN broke sluggishly, moved into contention on the backstretch, but was unable to_make up appreciable ground when roused. TANGENT opened a long lead early, shortened stride after a mile and was tiring. MARTONNA had no mishap. TOSTON showed nothing. CAPSTONE was outrun. A claim of foul against the winner was disallowed. CHARLESTON, steadied while saving ground within striking distance of the early pace, slipped through along the inside and into command leaving the furlong pole, then increased margin. CHARING ROCK, kept within striking distance of the pace, came to the outside of the winner in the stretch, but was not good enough. JUDYS RUNNER saved ground along the rail, but lacked a closing rally. BATED BREATH, sluggish in the late stages, was unable to make up appreciable ground. LONG GONE moved along the inside to take command leaving the backstretch, then went wide and carried IDIO out. on the final turn. IDIO showed good speed until carried wide.
