COUNTESS FLEET, a sharp factor from the start, took command with a rush after being. guided to the inside for the stretch run and steadily drew out, winning with speed to spare. RUSH ALONG worked her way .forward . to the stretch, was unable to endanger the winner when shaken for the drive, but easily bested the others. LAP 0 LUXURY failed to sufficiently respond when set down for the final test. KUMASI passed tiring horses. TANTE FLORENCE tired. BLACK MELODY was outrun. MURIEL W. quit. RED RELIC raced in nearest pursuit of HOT STOVE fora half mile, disposed of that one when ready thereafter and won going away. HOT STOVE assumed command immediately after the start, gave way to the winner nearing the furlong marker, then held on willingly to outgame ALTERNATIVE. The latter failed to properly respond when called upon for his best effort. POT HUNTER was unable to improve his position when hard hustled through the. late stages. ELROSE raced wide. LONG STRETCH stepped to the front immediately after the start and held sway thereafter when fully extended. AUDREY LEE came fast when roused for the stretch run and steadily was wearing down the top one. TWO STARS recovered readily after breaking to the inside, raced in closest attendance of the leader to the stretch, but flattened when punished. GEOMETRIC lacked the necessary rally. AZURE BEAUTY, forced to take up slightly leaving the gate, was within striking distance nearing the furlong marker, but failed to respond when subjected to brisk urging. RICO ROMANCE -and FAR PACIFIC were outrun. TONAPAH and MISTY MORN never were dangerous. CONVERSANT dropped back soon after the start. PAPER MOON and PRECIOUS LADY showed nothing. CRASH DIVE replaced PHANTOM SONG when ready entering the stretch and steadily Increased his advantage winning with speed in reserve. PINE CONE raced forwardly from the beginning while saving ground, was no match for the winner when the real test came, but rallied mildly to outgame PHANTOM SONG. The latter held sway for a half mile, shortened stride thereafter when shaken and continued to tire during the drive. LEE CEE failed to rally when punished. C. 0. DORSETT dropped from contention immediately after the start. MAN OF DESTINY lacked early foot. GLEN COVE quit. KILIMANJARO began tardily. Start good. Won handily; second and third driving. HIGH GUN, under snug restraint during the early running, lugged in slightly while improving his position leaving the final turn, came fast when straightened to dispose of FISHERMAN inside the stretch and continued on gamely under a mild hand ride. FISHERMAN, a sharp factor from the start, forged to the front nearing the furlong marker, was unable to withstand the challenge of the winner, but held on willingly to best the others. DIVING BOARD forged between horses to attain a contending position entering the stretch, but lacked, the necessary rally. PRINCE HILL drifted out on the final turn and was unable to seriously endanger the leaders when set down for the drive, SURMOUNT saved ground to no avail.
