Belmont Ball to Be Held June 11 at T and F Club Mrs. George Widener Chairman; Travelers Aid to Get Proceeds BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. T., June 5. The 1954 Belmont Ball will be held on the eve of the running of the Belmont Stakes, Friday, June 11, at the Turf and Field Club. This year, the Westchester Racing Association has designated the Travelers Aid Society of New York to be the beneficiary of the proceeds. Mrs. George D. Widener is honorary chairman of the event, Mrs. Conrad W. Thibault, chairman of the executive committee; Mrs. Dodge Sloane, chairman of the dinner committee; Mrs. Cornelius Van-derbilt Whitney, chairman, and Mrs. A. Perry Osborn, assistant chairman of the program committee; Mrs. Ellen Lehman McCluskey, chairman of the decorations committee; Mrs. J. Truman Bidwell, chairman of the awards committee, and Miss Jarmila Daubek, chairman of the junior committee. Conrad Thibault, well-known concert start, will sing and Meyer Davis and his orchestra will provide dance music. The owner of the winning horse of the Belmont Stakes will donate one of the horseshoes used in the race, which will be auctioned off at the ball to help increase the proceeds for Travelers Aid. Other members of the executive committee include Mrs. Charles Allen, Jr., Mrs. Thomas M. Bancroft, Mrs. Jack F. Chrysler, Mrs. Anthony Del Balso, Mrs. Walter B. Morris, Mrs. Charles Shipman Payson, Mrs. Walter J. Salmon, Mrs. George Hamlin Shaw, Mrs. Donald S. Stralen, Mrs, Robert E. Strawbridge, Jr., Mrs. Robert F. Wagner, Mrs. John C. Wood, Mrs. William Woodward, Jr., and Mrs. Hibben Ziesing.
