Papa Charlie Scores Repeat In Fairmount Main Event ! FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., June 5. rMiss Rita Cues four-year-old, Papa Charlie, proved a surprise winner when he repeated here Friday night in the Richmond. Heights Purse, by a length margin. The game son of Holdall, under the handling of apprentice R. White, closed ground in the final quarter after being a i bit slow in settling into best stride, wore down the leaders after reaching stretch then drew out to win by a length margin in 1:12 for the six furlongs. Hals Boy, of the Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Hplman Stable, accounted for the second money while Stepping Up took down the show end of the ,600 purse. In winning the Richmond Heights Purse, Papa Charlie paid his backers 2.40. There were 7,300 fans on hand for the Friday night card of nine races which were run off in cool weather. I The first disqualification of the current meeting came with the running of the fourth event when Green Gal was placed second after winning by a scant neck. Justa Ray, which was the victim of being shut off entering the final furlong, was given first money. Green Gal, ridden by jockey L. Miller, outrun in the early stages of the five and. one-half furlongs dash moved up fast on outside rounding the stretch turn, then bore in badly making Justa Ray take up sharply, the latter then came again but could not overcome the lost ground. Mershon Valley, far back in the early stages, just missed being bothered as . he was moving up in the stretch to get I third money. J,u,st Ray paid 0.20 ,to win.
