Steelers Add Quarter-Ton To Roster for 1954 Season PITTSBURGH, Pa,, June 5 UP. Two "beef trust" tackles whose collective weight exceeds a quarter-ton were added to the Pittsburgh Steelers signed list today. Ernie Cheatham, six-foot-four-inch Marine, combat officer, sent his signed contract from a rest and recreation area in Japan. The, 248jPound prospect, who saw action in Korea, wrote Steeler president Arthur J. Rooney that he will be discharged in time for pre-season drills . Nick Bolkovac, six-feet-three, reported his weight was an even 230 pounds in a letter accompanying his contract. The Youngstown, Ohio, resident who starred at the University of Pittsburgh, was the Steelers leading scorer last year with 45 points from field goals and point-after-touchdown attempts.
