HASTY HANK soon dashed to the front to draw away after leaving the backstretch, then increased his margin in the stretch, but had to be hustled along to withstand a closing bid from DESERT GIRL. The latter was always well up and finished with determination. MILNICK, off quickly, was unable. to keep up with the pace, but finished with good courage. BLUE ROGUE finished fairly well. CILED ORPHAN was also going gamely at the end. STAR DIVER quit badly in the stretch. BONNIE INEZ and LARRYS PLUM were off poorly. Scratched 17162 Chartint, 112; Babynole, 107; 1C610 Babbys Boy, 112. MIGHTY NICE was runner-up to BALLAPOOL for half the trip, then forged to the front to open up a good lead in the stretch and was not in danger coming to the finish. BE SWAYED improved his position under urging and was gaining rapidly coming to the end. CALORIMETER was well up from the start, but raced rather wide in the stretch. SMART COOKIE gained between horses in the run home and was going well at the finish. CURIOUS REWARD and BALLAPOOL tired. COCOA . AL was unable to keep up. TOURAINE got to the front early and, racing well while saving ground, withstood several challenges from PHILIPS PAL to win under urging while drawing away slightly in the final strides. PHILIPS PAL rushed up on the outside soon after the start and was a very strong contender all through the final half mile. SONNY MARS made up some ground to easily best the others. MISS L. acted badly at the post, but raced fairly well. MAD HARHAM had early speed, but tired in the stretch. TRACK GENERAL was in close quarters early and had little chance. FOURTH RACE 5 FURLONGS. ROMAN HEART soon dashed to the front on tl.e outside and, pulling away from the others when ready, opened up a long lead in the last eighth to win easily. LUDLOW, while unable to match strides with ROMAN HEART, was a good contender for second place all the way and bested ARGUMENT in the drive. The latter had early foot and held on with good courage. FLEET MISSY was going fairly well at the finish. LADY ALORTER broke quickly, but was unable to keep up and was in close 1 quarters on the inside after leaving the backstretch. KORITZA trailed for about three-eighths, then made a strong move on the outside and, coming around several horses on the stretch turn, took command to hold CHANCE SNOW under urging at the end. The latter was never too far away and finished with good courage. IDLE PLATTER, outrun early, was in tight quarters on the inside around the far turn, then saved ground in the stretch to loom up, but had little left for the final drive. LADY OF CHANCE was well rated close to the pace for six furlongs, then moved up strongly when called upon nearing the stretch turn to pass BUSY NOW after entering the last furlong and win under hard urging. MERRY MOUNT made a good run nearing the stretch turn, but raced very wide through the stretch. BUSY NOW raced SELABULL into defeat but tired in the final drive. OAK RIVER continued well after being headed by BOGS PRIDE . and, catching the latter again near the stretch turn, drew out slightly, but was unable to resist the winner. SWANEES PENNY had no apparent excuse, being well up from the start. BABY BATTLER finished with good courage. BOGS PRIDE tired.
