QUIBBLE COUNT was closest to BLUE VET early and took a clear lead on the stretch turn but was not Strong enough. MISS NIGHT camewith oood couraqe in the~stretch. GRACES STAR closed ground on the outside in the last quarter. BLUE VET and AMBALONG had speed to the stretch, then tired. DONT FAIL ME was never far away and, moving next to the rail nearing the stretch turn, found an opening rounding the turn to get to the front and win under hand urging. BAD BOY BILL continued well after being headed by LONLEY ROBIN and went steadily to the finish. HERMAN L. made a strong move on the outside nearing the stretch turn but failed to carry through. LONLEY ROBIN tired. PAPPA-GEE was unable to keep up. ZIGGITY weakened after going half the distance. STARRY NIGHT and KING OF KINGS were off slowly. RUFFLED FABRIC got through on the inside on the backstretch and, holding to the rail in the stretch, improved her advantage to win handily. LETS DO IT had speed and, although losing some ground in racing wide, was clearly best of the rest. SHURA was outrun early and broke out slightly in the stretch. GALANT PARCEL made up ground and seemed to be bothered slightly by SHURA at midstretch. PI R SQUARE was not dangerous. ELLWOOD tired badly. GOOD CLEAN FUN was not hurried while being outrun in the first half-mile, then came strongly on the outside nearing the stretch turn to cet to the front in the middle of the track a sixteenth out and hold COW BOY. The latter did not become prominent until the stretch was reached, then came steadilyand was gaining. RED PERFUME closed some ground in the stretch. MASTER RED set the pace but tired. DENVER KING, close to the pace from the start, moved up on PIPIT after entering the last sixteenth to take a short lead nearing the finish but was doing his best to hold BLAZING ROCKET. The latter was slow to get into stride and was badly outrun to the stretch, then came fast and was gaining rapidly. PIPIT took command when JET AGE broke down on the backstretch and held on well. COME THROUGH lost much ground in racing wide. FAST CASH finished well. BOOSTER ROCKET saved ground in .the stretch to loom up and then weakened. SUN JEEP began slowly and was outrun for a half-mile, then came -fast in the stretch to take over in the last fifty yards and win drawing out. GINGER MISS responded when called upon in the stretch and raced well to the finish. INFIDEL finished fast in the middle of the track. NICKIES BOY, bidding for the leadership, bore out around the last two turns. PACEMAKER, outrun early, finished fairly well. SIR CHRIS and FORTUNE N. tired. P. Headley. IN GATE-4:44. OFF AT 4:44 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won ridden out. RACETRACKER was saved within striking distance of the leaders until ready to make his move after leaving the backstretch, then improved his position and although bearing out on the stretch turn, caught SILVER STATE about fifty yards out to wjn going away. SILVER STATE went to the front soon after the start, and shaking off FULL FLIGHT, withstood a challenge from ARRACADO to draw out nearing the stretch turn but was unable to last. FULL FLIGHT, although forced wide, around the stretch turn, came again in the last furlong. CALS CHOICE raced evenly.-ARRACADO raced rather wide on the backstretch and gave way after challenging for the leadership around the far turn. SIR TRIBAL broke well but did not like the going and dropped back almost immediately. He was never a serious contender and was taken fairly well in hand in-the stretch when it was evident he had no chance to be in the money. EIGHTH RACE- 1 MILE Bay Boy, May 2, 1958-1:38%-3-113.
