WILLY NILLY set the pace under good rating, shook off the challenge from BROOM MAKER into the stretch and drew away under pressure. The latter made a bid into the stretch, then was unable to keep up with the winner. VIRGINIAN could not improve position in an even effort. TAYLORCREST was allowed to drop back from the early position, then could not menace with a late rally. BETH saved ground to no avail. LITTLE JONESY was no serious threat. MISS RICO improved position gradually and while caught between horses in the stretch run was up in the last stride. MADCAP MISS dashed off to a comfortable lead and just failed to last. ONE NIGHTER was favorably placed from the start and finished with good energy. GRAY VISION closed well in a sharp effort. NANCYS BALLET dropped back along the inside going to the far turn, then rallied in the stretch run. CONSTANT REBEL was in contention, until the deep stretch, then faltered. DINING .ALONE had no late response. DANDY MASTER was forced to race on the complete outside of the field and coulchtot menace. Overweight— Miss Rico, 1 pound. Nancys Ballet claimed by L. SIDE WHEEL forced the pace from the inside, wrested command going to the far turn and, after drawing off into the stretch, withstood the late bid from BLUE WAYNE. The latter remained close up after relinquishing the early lead, drifted out slightly into the stretch, then rallied to come on again PLEASURE SCOUT loomed a threat from the outside into the stretch but hung in the late yards. ULTRA SMART dropped back in the run down of the backstretch, then could not threaten in the final run. JOHN HANCOCK lacked clear racing room along the inside while going to the far turn and closed well when finally brought to the outside in the stretch run.
