Bryn In and Out Of Ascot Gold Cup ASCOT PARK, Cuhahoga Falls, Ohio, May 2. — Edson L. Cannons Bryn moved in and out of the Ascot Gold Cup field Friday in a series of rapid events. Bryn, a former stakes runner for W. Hal Bishop, arrived from Gulfstream Park and quickly won by three lengths at the Akron course distance. The win quolified the Fairey Fulmar — Bryn Mawr gelding for the Ascot Cup on May 16, but trainer Raymond Horner dropped a claim in the box for Bryn and took him for Bindofer and Porer. Since a horse must win at the Gold Cup distance for his present owner, Bryn must requalify at the distance for his new owners, or face the uncertainity of not having winners preference for the rich Ascot fixture. Jockey Buck Th rnburg stopped over en route to Garden State to handle Bryn and left right after the victory.
