WEDLOCK, restrained off the fast early pace of WAYWARD MISS, moved to that 2 one midway of the second turn, responded to turn back AESTHETIC on entering the stretch and was fully -extended to hold her tommanding lead. RAYS FAIRY GOLD, unhurried to the final quarter mile, where she rallied from between horses and finished with good courage. AESTHETIC moved rather boldly through the upper * stretch but could not sustain her bid. NEW STAR moved fast along the outside rounding the second turn, _* bore out badly through the stretch run and could not menace. MAID 0STEEL was impeded in the upper stretch when NEW STAR bore out. RUWENZORI dropped far back at once and failed to threaten thereafter. WAYWARD * MISS stopped badly. Overweight— Aesthetic, 1 pound. JJj Corrected weight— Ruwenzori, 121. HIDDEN TALENT, eased out of close quarters entering the first turn, continued along the outside thereafter to move to the fore on the final turn, commenced drifting out when put to pressure in the stretch and responded gamely to turn back a bold challenge by INDIAN MAID. HIDDEN TALENT survived a stewards inquiry when it was determined that she did not bother INDIAN MAID througn the stretch run. INDIAN MAID dropped back after going a half mile, came again along the outside in the la stages to __, gain command a furlong out but was not quite good enough. KATHY H., unhurried to the final quarter mile,l rallied from between horses but could not menace the top pair. RICH TRADITION was far back in a dull effort. HOMEPLACE worked his way steadily along the outside after going a half mile and was fully extended to wear down EEAU FILS. The latter had speed, swerved out entering the first turn, continued slightly wide while showing the way and was clearly best of the others. PICMAR made up some ground but could not seriously threaten. GRAY ACE went evenly. SPICEY STORY was roughed up entering the first turn. Scratched— 1998GP Polkachita. Beau Fils claimed by T. C.
