Delaware Valley Garden Feature Intentionally, Crafty Skipper And Rice Stables Rare Rice, Cedar Brook in Saturday Test By Staff Correspondent GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 2.— The first full week of the Garden State Park 25-day spring meeting will be climaxed here next Saturday with the sixth running of the 6 furlongs 5,000 added Delaware Valley Stakes. The event for three-year-olds and is likely to attract Brookfield Farms Intentionally, with Mrs. Ada L. Rices pair of Cedar Brook and Rare Rice, Charfran Staoles Crafty Admiral and Reginald N. Websters Royal Anthem also among the more probable candidates. Intentionally, beaten twice in route tests this season, after an impressive sprint victory at Jamaica, passed up todays Kentucky Derby with the Delaware Valley in view. Harry Isaacs colt was second to Atoll in the 1 1-16 miles Gotham at Jamaica and then fourth back of Emil Dolce s surprising Manassa Mauler in the 9 furlongs Wood Memorial. He should appreciate the 6 furlongs distance of the Delaware Valley. Intentionally was one of the best two-year-olds last season, winning both the "Belmont and Pimlico Futurities. Mrs. Rices pair loom as starters with Rare Rice turning in a 1:00 clocking for 5 panels in a handy workout here this morning. Rare Rice and Cedar Brook won divisions of Tropical P a r ks Alligator Handicap early this winter and Rare Rice also captured Laurels Chesapeake. Cedar Brook, Royal Anthem and Cary C. Boshamers Carolina Joy, another Delaware Valley candidate, are all in todays sixth race at 6 furlongs. Royal Anthem and Carolina Joy ra epegged to carry top-weight of 121 pounds in that event while Cedar Brook is under 118 pounds. Carolina Joy captured, Bowies George Washington in his best effort of the season and was fourth behind Mrs. Ben Cohens Pen Bolero in the Governors Gold Cup at the same course. Royal Anthem swept the three Jersey-bred two stakes last season. Crafty Skipper is fresh from victory in the Jamaica Handicap. The Crafty Admiral colt ripped off 6 furlongs in 1:09% over a sloppy track in winning the Jamaica, going under the wire an easy four and one-half lengths in front. Carolina Joy captured Bowies George Washington in his best effort of the season and was fourth behind Mrs. Ben Cohens Pen Bolero in the Governors Gold Cup at the same course. Royal Anthem swept the three Jersey-bred two stakes last season.
