► Time Royal Dazzler In Sparkling Trial Unraced Sophomore Goes 7 Furlongs in 1 :24 Handily Over Good Belmont Oval By COSTY CARAS Staff Correspondent JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y., May 2. — Royal Dazzler, a three-year-old untried son of Royal Vale, continued to raise eyebrows at Belmont Parks main track this morning, as the highly regarded prospect glided through a seven-furlong drill in the good time of 1:24, handily. Working over a track that was slightly "off," termed good by the dockers, Mrs. J. R. H. Thourons colt blazed the first three quarters of a mile in 1:12. This colt is definitely going to make his presence felt in the coming three-year-old fixtures ahead. Royal Dazzler has been nominated for the Preak-ness and the Belmont Stakes. Posts 1:12 for 6 Furlongs Another highly classified filly, Howell E. Jacksons Calais Dover, indicated her fitness for her return to the entries when she posted a 1:12% timing for six furlongs, , while Walter M. Jeffords Piano Jim, winner i of the Laurel Handicap last week end, covered the same distance in 1:15 handily. Piano Jims next major assignment may come in next Saturdays rich Grey Lag i Handicap.
