CHIN CHIN moved inside the leaders after settling into the backstretch to reach a clear lead in the first half-mile and, under a steady hand ride, drew off. ANKYLOSIS was always well up but could not threaten the winner. LAND LASH gave an insufficient late rally. BORDER SON bumped with POWERAMA at the first turn and tired under pressure. LADY LIZ could not keep up. HOT WALKER was done early. POWERAMA failed to recover after bumping at the first turn. Scratched— 1964Suf3 Passing Age. RED SULTAN drew off leaving the far turn and, after being headed in deep stretch, came on again at the wire. COLONEL PAT saved ground on the turn, came to the outside for the final run, reached the lead inside the final stretch, then hung. OALO lacked the late response. ANMARK could not keep up. SOLID THREAT quickly drew off leaving the far turn and, after losing the lead in the midstretch, came on again to slowly edge away. BOOMTOWN held the early lead, remained in hand to the stretch where he rallied to reach the front, then yielded ground to the winner nearing the end. WAR TAX loomed a threat from the outside into the stretch, then raced wide and tired. DELECTATION could not keep up. PEREGRINATOR lacked a response when put to pressure. SHAKERTOWN showed little. RUFUS THE RED gradually improved position, swept by the leaders from the outside into the stretch and drew off without undue pressure. COLUMBIA GEM always held a favorable position and, while finishing willingly, was not good enough. MANOMETRO tired in the stretch run. BIG PATRICIA failed to enter contention. COUNTRYSIDE, strongly restrained to the far turn, quickly moved to the leaders when called upon, drew off to a good lead in the early stretch and was ridden out. BROGUE II. rallied from far back, but could not menace the winner. PARTY WHIP held on well for six furolngs before giving way. POWER BIT moved from the inside at the far turn to reach close contention, then suddenly gave way. SATANS SIN could not keep up. SPY BOSS yielded ground gradually. AIR BOROUGH had to be steadied when in close between the leaders in the run down the backstretch, was eased back and, coming to the outside, reached the front before a half mile, and, after shaking offthe bid from PLAIN BEN, slowly edgeed away. The latter rallied along inside to reach near even terms with the winner in midstretch, then yielded ground to that one in the late yards. FIBRE KING lacked a late response. ST. MARKS gave improved speed when too late. CLIFFS 0 DOVER could not keep up CROWN MARBLE and ROCKIE CREEK gave way badly from their early efforts. Overweight— Cliffs o Dover, 2 pounds. WAR SIGNALS improved position gradually along the inside, came to the outside for the stretch run, wore down the leader -leaving the eighth pole and, after drawing clear, appeared ready to pull himself up in the final seventy yards but under punishment prevailed to the end. GREEK STAR moved from the outside to reach the front in the early stretch and, after dropping back from the winner, came on again nearing the end. Jockey Skuse claimed foul against the winner for interference in the stretch which was disallowed. GOULASH, lagging far behind early, closed a good gap but could not endanger the top pair. MOTOR LINE found clear racing room along the inside to challenge for the lead midway on the final turn, started to bear out into the stretch, bumping OKEEGAN, then tired. MARLOW ROAD was going well along the inside in the stretch run. OKEEGAN lost ground on the first turn, reached the lead into the backstretch and appeared to be tiring when bumped by MOTOR LINE.
