JR. after reaching the backstretch, drew out on the stretch turn but in the final furlong, was shaken up to hold the advantage. The latter had a short lead on the first turn, gave way to the winner after the first quarter, thenafter reaching the stretch, came again but wasnt good enough. QUICK WIT moved up fast while racing on the outside and hold on gamely. STONE HEART gave an even performance. SPRINGFIRE finished strongly CAPE IVORY was never prominent. BROKEN WING took the lead in the first few yards, set the pace throughout and, under mild urging, was able to maintain a comfortable lead. UPSET BOOK, slow to settle, made up a lot of ground in the final quarter while saving ground. RED GERANIUM moved up between horses on the stretch turn and held. on with good courage. SEPPIE raced on the outside most of the distance and finished strongly under urging. AIR BATTLE failed to improve his position and was outside for the most part. KITTY FLEET forced the pace while on the outside to the stretch, then moved up tp take a short lead and held SONG PARADE II. safe in the final strides. The latter-had the lead on the first . turn, set the pace to the last furlong, then gave way slightly but under a strong ride held on with determination. MY TREASURE gave an even performance and failed to.make up any ground. ROYAL FLYER was never able to threaten the leaders. DUNTREATH TINT was always far back.
