MOON .CLOUD, always, close up, wrested the lead -shortly after a half mile, quickly drew clear and increased advantage under pressure. THE CRACK was under light restraint setting the pace and v/as no match for the winner. GRINSTEAD finished with good energy. BARROCO dropped back after the start and closed a gap of ground in the late stages. Jockey Grimms claim of foul against THE CRACK for alleged interference leaving the gate was disallowed. NOTED, hard ridden to gain early command, could not hold the winner and was good enough to last over AEGEAN" SEA. The latter was going strongly through the late stages. TONES BOY could not keep up. TIGER PLAY reached the front leaving the far turn and, after losing the lead before the final eighth, came on again in the last Jump to gain the narrow decision. BEACH MODE rallied with the winner, reached the lead in the early stretch and just failed to last. SPEED 0 LIGHT lacked a strong late response. TRAIL OF GOLD loomed a threat into the stretch, then hung. QUITE NICE showed little. QUEST OF WAR quickly opened up a good lead and flattened out badly after five furlongs. Overweight— Trail of Gold, 2~~pounds. Attendance, 11,521; Total Mutuel Pool, 50,356.
